Congratulations, you are getting married! But, you want to get married quickly, or you just don’t want to spend a years’ wages on one day? You don’t have to spend a fortune on your wedding. With these tips, you can make your wedding fun and memorable without spending too much.

Plan the date
Choose a day that is not bang in the middle of wedding season. August bank holiday is going to be a lot more expensive than a Friday in March. Think about what you want from the wedding – if you are wanting to spend a lot of time outdoors then you do need to think about the weather. Weekday weddings are usually cheaper in hotels and reception venues, but do think about guest availability too.
Get creative with invitations
Make them yourself – Kraft paper and brown string looks so fancy. Or, you can get email invitations that are either free or low cost. Nobody saves wedding invitations apart from the couple that are getting married, so these are a nice to have, not a necessity.
DIY wedding outfits
You DO NOT have to have a big white dress/top hat and tails type of wedding. Think about the venue you have chosen and figure out something that will fit in. You can buy wedding dresses (if you are wearing a dress) on eBay too, for half the price. Make sure you check the reviews, if you are buying new.
Keep it simple with flowers

Flowers really look lovely in a church or ceremony venue, but are an expensive addition. Perhaps just put a few in, or even ask the church flower ladies to see if they would do some for you for a donation. I had silk flowers for my bouquet and bridesmaids – nobody realised and they looked great. We had no flowers in church but the flowers that were already there – not everything has to match, and it saved me hundreds.
