If you are planning a wedding, chances are you have a lot on your plate. It is easy to get stressed out and overwhelmed when you have so many tasks to accomplish. There are a few things that you can do to help yourself relax – this will mean that when you get back to your wedding tasks, you will be less stressed and be more productive.
We all know the importance of relaxation. It is recommended to take time for yourself when you are feeling stressed or when you need to recover from a particularly tough day. But what are some simple ways in which you can relax?
- Yoga -It is believed that yoga can help us relax because it makes us breathe evenly and it improves our focus, too. Check out some YouTube videos to understand the best way to do it. (Or go to a class!)
- Deep breaths – If you find yourself getting frustrated, just take a deep breath and count to 5 before taking any action. This will help you calm down and avoid an unnecessary conflict. This is an easy fix if you find yourself in a difficult situation.
- Walk – If you still have time left in your day, try going for a walk at sunset or sunrise for best results – they are said to be the most calming times of the day! You can think, and you can listen to music – perfect.
- Have a massage – get your partner involved, or book a relaxing massage at a local spa. You could even just have a whole spa session to yourself, a few hours with your phone will do you the world of good.
There are many ways to relax, and some may work better for one person over another. Knowing the different types of relaxation techniques available can help you choose which ones work best for you.
Another great ideas is totally distract yourself – try some online games. Plays.Org is a free website with no sign ups or downloads, and has loads of option. Gaming can be a really fun way to switch off – but not if you get tied into a longwinded battle on a console! Step back a bit – I love this retro Pac-Man inspired game. Its simple but so addictive.
You can even search on the website for wedding or love themed games, if you really can’t switch off from your planning. Check out this cake game where you have to merge desserts – it sounds completely mental but its so good!
Or, if you are fed up with all the love stuff, why not try this anti-love game where you are literally shooting the love away! Of course, this game is designed for kids – but we are all big kids, right?
When you have taken some time out for yourself, and fully relaxed, then is the time to get back into your wedding planning. You will feel refreshed and ready to get back into it all. Good luck!
