Wedding blogs

Posted on November 4, 2021November 4, 2021 by gonnagetwed

Wedding blogs have been a part of the wedding industry for a long time now. With the increase in number, it is no surprise that not everyone can keep up with which ones are worth your time and which ones are not.  This one is, obviously!  Are you considering setting up your own wedding blog? Why not?  Weddings are so exciting, and a blog is a great way to document your own process in order to help other people.

Weddings are a happy occasion and people love to share their special day with others. The popularity of wedding blogs has helped today’s couples take control of their wedding and plan it themselves.

There is an increasing number of people who want to share their experiences and knowledge by creating a blog about weddings. One such blogger, Jeni Wright, has been married for over 10 years now and she shares her experience as a professional wedding planner on her blog. She provides tips on thing such as dress shopping, finding the right ceremony venue, and even selecting the perfect cake.

Here are a few things to consider when setting up a good wedding blog:

  • Is the blog visually appealing? Regardless of what you do or don’t think, people judge books by their cover. Wedding blogs should be visually appealing to make sure they’ll draw in readers.  Make sure you ask permission for any photographs you use, and better still, ask fellow brides to send in their own wedding pictures.  Everyone loves to share!
  • Does the blog share content on different topics, such as DIY projects and food recipes? Wedding blogs that only talk about weddings might bore their readers. Instead, they should also include other pieces that will engage their audience and keep them coming back for more.  For example, on this blog we talk a lot about money saving.
  • Is the content right for your readers? Make sure you are always looking for new ways to interact with them, and brainstorm for content.

Influencers

Internet has made it really easy for people to catch up on the latest trends in weddings without having to visit shops or call up vendors themselves. A new generation of bloggers are writing about weddings because they have the time and opportunity – and more importantly, the medium to use to write.  Years ago, the only wedding articles out there were in magazines, which were expensive and also only monthly.  Nowadays we can go on Instagram and see great new ideas every day.

Wedding influencers are people who influence the market by creating and publishing content about weddings, wedding dresses, and other related things.  The role of influencers is to educate brides-to-be on the best vendors and suppliers for their weddings, as well as give them a voice in the wedding industry. Due to their popularity and reach, influencers can charge a lot for their sponsored posts on Instagram or YouTube. Make sure you always check other reviews as well, although most influencers are honest in their reviews, as otherwise their readers would leave them.

The rise of social media has made it easier than ever to become an influencer. Influencer marketing is defined by the size and uniqueness of the individual’s following and their ability to influence. There are three main types: celebrities, social media stars, and micro-influencers.

Celebrities have large followings on social media which give them a distinct advantage over other types of influencers because they can capitalize on their fame and reach a wide audience. Social media stars are known for their creativity in content or entertaining posts which they usually showcase on Instagram etc. Micro-influencers are not as popular but they have a niche following which is very engaged with their content making them an ideal choice for companies who want to target niche markets.

Wedding influencers are typically one of the above types who have recently got engaged.  They get super excited about their own wedding, then realise that they can help all their followers with their own weddings.  Often, wedding blogs or social media accounts only start off to document the influencers own wedding, but then it takes off and everyone loves it!
